I have participated in Light The Night for over 5 years now and I am currently in treatment for my 2nd bout with CLL. My first treatment was chemo. I was in remission for close to 2 years and started Imbruvica last August. That along with IVIG has allowed me to live with a good quality of life outside of having to stop working because if my immune system. I try to keep it as normal as possible.

As l was starting my chemo treatments 5 years ago l saw a commercial on TV and discussed with my wife how l would like to get get involved with Light The Night and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

My wife and l were able to reach the $5,000 fundraising milestone by reaching out to our friends and family through social media and email. As well we were very fortunate to have been chosen by TUAC for a $2,000 match-up.

To me, Light The Night means support, inspiration and hope. We are so close to a cure and continued research is essential to eradicate blood cancers. We have come so far in recent years in terms of new treatments and cures allowing patients who had no hope to now have hope.

Do you have a story to tell?

As a supporter, in memory, or as a survivor… share with others why you are helping end blood cancers by participating in a Light the Night Walk
