I am very fortunate to be doing well since my Transplant last October 11/19! It was a rough few months after transplant but I have been getting stronger everyday! My Family and Friends have been just awesome support during my recovery!

Today a year later I have returned to golf, (walking 9 holes twice a week) back with my walking group and walking 10-12 KM on our walk day once a week! I have returned back to a normal life even in this Covid World!

I basically spent close to 2 yrs living in Halifax - every time I could get home to PEI was incredible - crossing that Bridge brought tears to my eyes!

My friend Yvonne Campbell inspired me by started Gerri’s Team last year - which was my first time been involved with Light the Night! This year I wanted to continue this Fundraising Event! I was able to reach the $5,000 fundraising milestone by reaching out to family and friends, using Facebook for my social Media, I held an auction on Facebook for a Christmas Fruitcake! A friend also did a painting and auctioned it for a fundraiser!

Light The Night is a good time to reflect on my journey and know that BLOOD CANCERS can be BEAT!

Canadians should support the blood cancer community because you just never know when it will strike you or a family member! My Blood Cancer was acute - one day your fine and the next day your in a bed in Hospital!

Do you have a story to tell?

As a supporter, in memory, or as a survivor… share with others why you are helping end blood cancers by participating in a Light the Night Walk
