Alain Ménard practices law in the office of Cain Lamarre Casgrain Wells LLP where he specializes in taxation. He worked for several years in tax litigation with the federal Department of Justice and then went on to pursue his career in the private sector. In his practice, he covers all aspects of taxation, particularly tax litigation, in which he has acquired considerable experience.

Mr. Ménard earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of Ottawa in 1975 and his law degree (LL.L.), also from the University of Ottawa, in 1978. Following his admission to the Québec Bar in 1979, he received complete training in taxation from the CICA. He also completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at HEC Montréal in 1985.

Mr. Ménard speaks regularly on taxation issues at conferences held by the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) and elsewhere. He chairs the seminar committee of the APFF and currently serves on its board of directors. He also sits on a number of Revenu Québec and Canada Revenue Agency advisory committees.
